Making IT Work
The Data and Technology Conference provides an opportunity for networking and learning the latest in trends, technology and new policy for child welfare data managers. Colleagues, from the case workers who actually input the data, to the systems manager who designs the reports to extract the data and everyone in between are invited to submit proposals for sessions. The three-day conference held in Washington DC draws colleagues from the courts and universities as well as from private and public child welfare agencies.
Each year, an advisory committee consisting of representatives from the Children’s Bureau and from the Children’s Bureau’s Training and Technical Assistance (T&TA) Network review proposals and develop an agenda based on the top submissions around a pre-selected theme for the year. In 2008, the theme was on Making IT Work: Achieving Safety, Permanency and Well-Being for Youth.
Anyone with a conference theme related lesson learned, data-practice, or latest child welfare technology presentation is encouraged to submit a proposal for consideration during the Call for Papers. There is also a great opportunity for vendors to exhibit their services. Go to NRCCWDT.org for the latest information on an upcoming conference.
