Description: The Wyoming SACWIS system (WYCAPS) includes real-time interfaces with the IV-A and IV-D systems. The benefit to a social worker from the look up into Wyoming's Department of Family Services EPICS (Eligibility Payment Information Computer System) IV-A system is verification of client involvement with TANF, Food Stamps, or Medicaid. This information assists the worker in developing a suitable case plan for the client. Also because demographic information can be retrieved from EPICS, social workers can avoid duplication of data input. The system allows the worker to search EPICS from within WYCAPS via an "EPICS online browse facility". WYCAPS also has a 'push button' to copy information from EPCIS to WYCAPS. The look up is real-time allowing the worker to make decisions more quickly based on current information.

The interface with POSSE (Parental Obligation System Support Enforcement), Wyoming's child support system allows workers to retrieve the amount of child support paid, the paid dates and who paid the child support. Social workers often present this information to the judge when reviewing a child's placement and when working with families. This look up is on-line so no reports have to be requested and the information is available when the worker needs it.
