AFCARS Toolkit

What is the AFCARS Toolkit?
The AFCARS Toolkit provides both new and experienced State child welfare program and system staff with an orientation to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS). The AFCARS Toolkit provides links to key materials and documents related to the collection of quality data that can be used to address policy development and program management issues at the State and Federal level. Please note the Children's Bureau provides additional technical documentation regarding AFCARS on their web site (www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/dis/afcars). This is the first version of the AFCARS Toolkit, and the NRC-CWDT is working with the Children's Bureau to facilitate distribution.

How does one use this Toolkit?
To navigate through the different sections of the AFCARS Toolkit, click on the tabs on the right. Please note this Toolkit provides links only to copies of official documents produced by ACF and other material on AFCARS that reside on the Children's Bureau web site.

The NRC-CWDT would appreciate any feedback regarding the AFCARS Toolkit. If you have comments, questions, or need technical assistance, please contact us at NRC-CWDT.
