About Us
The National Resource Center for Information Technology
in Child Welfare (NRC-ITCW) was established in September
1999 by the Children's Bureau of the Administration
on Children, Youth and Families, Administration for
Children and Families. A five-year cooperative agreement
was awarded to the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA)
to support States, local and Tribal child welfare programs,
and courts in their effective use of automated information
systems and data. That five-year agreement was renewed
in September of 2004 with the NRC-ITCW being renamed
the National Resource Center for Child Welfare Data
and Technology (NRC-CWDT). CWLA is pleased to continue
its partnership with Xtria, and the National Indian
Child Welfare Association (NICWA). Please follow the

Our mission is to assist State, local and tribal child
welfare agencies and the courts in improving outcomes
for children and families through the use of information
technology.
