New and old technologies offer ever-changing challenges and opportunities to help child welfare professionals to better serve children and families. Technology includes tools such as hardware, software, and methods and techniques that support data collection, sharing, and analysis. The NRC-CWDT provides resources on emerging technologies in child welfare and other health and human service fields.
Topics such as web 2.0, mobile computing, microwave connections, and GIS systems have very practical applications in child welfare. New technologies are also highlighted in the annual Child Welfare Data and Technology Conference.
